Yoga Weekend for 3 Night / 3 Day

Yoga Weekend for 3 night / 3 day: Indigenous Day (October 10-13)
from $185.00

Come for a weekend getaway in Bovina, New York.

The location is on our farm in the Catskill Mountains, surrounded by rolling hills and hayfields. The landscape offers an expansive view of the sky. We invite you to come practice yoga on our open air Pavillion, eat fresh healthy food, enjoy good company, walk and rest in silence. Yoga students visiting from afar can either stay on our land. We have limited housing on the farm, rooms in the farmhouse and private platform Safari tents. There are also local inns and B&B near us. Local students can participate in the yoga weekend with the choice of joining us in yoga and partaking in the lunches and dinners or just coming for the yoga classes.

Our farm is 3 and 1/2 hours northwest of NYC, an hour (and some) west of Kingston. It’s high elevation farmland (above 2,000) so the weather is on the cooler side, typically 10 degrees cooler than the hudson river valley and NYC. But it’s weather so hard to predict.

Arrival 2-4pm, departure 1:30-2:30

Yoga class schedule

Friday: 4 - 6

Saturday and Sunday: 10 am - 12:30 pm, 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Monday: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

*Price includes: 12 hours of yoga, 3 dinners, 3 breakfast, 3 lunches
*Work exchange on the farm can be arranged for a discounted rate — contact us to learn more.

Iyengar Yoga / Level 2 - In-Person

The Iyengar method was developed by B.K.S. Iyengar and is based in the ancient Indian tradition of classical Ashtanga Yoga, as defined in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Iyengar Yoga teaches strength and stamina, flexibility and balance as well as concentration and meditation. Although Iyengar Yoga begins with the physical body, it goes beyond to support emotional and spiritual growth. As students learn to extend awareness to each part of their body, they begin to understand the connection of mind and body and how the physical, mental, and spiritual parts of oneself are not separate.

Level 2: Once the basic foundation is learned, Level 1 standing poses are deeply familiar and Sarvangasana can be held for at least 5 minutes, students move onto Level 2. This includes, refines and expands upon what was taught in Level 1. Sirsasana (headstand), Full Arm Balance, and Backbends are all introduced. Deeper twistings and forward extensions and variations in the familiar Shoulderstand are explored.
